Anyone have fav doujinshi and/or doujinshika? Especially websites of artists? (I used to adore the use of negative space and all.)
I think one of the most influential artists for me was Halco/Chikadoh. There was just something about the expressions of their Iruka that have always stuck with me, especially the smitten smiles and the sad gazes.

halco is peak, honestly! tbh i spent most of my time staring at kakashi’s face - i don’t know how they pull it off?? the softness, the fondness, and the mischievous persistence? quality!!! 
other than halco… it’s not really a published doujin but a published comic on pixiv! it’s about a shrine master iruka getting bothered by this annoying fox spirit. wonder who could it be?

Unpopular opinion in the English fandom, but HALCO has never been my favorite. I like some of her stuff, but there are many circles I like better. Plus she hasn’t been active in the KakaIru fandom in over a decade now.
I won’t say I like all of these more than HALCO, but here are a bunch of the ones I like that are currently active. Apologies for being lazy and leaving their names in Japanese.

Aw man, you beat me to it! I was gonna sit down over the weekend and post up a rec list for pixiv/twitter artists but you hit most of the people I’d recommend I think!
Classics are good but new content is definitely better! We ought to encourage current creators as much as we can
Oh man I’ve just started looking through them. Oh my god they’re fabulous, I’m sad I can’t read them but the illustrations are just stunning and holy jebus one of them makes Iruka cake toppers… Squees know what I want for my birthday cake next year lol.

I clicked on like one artist’s feed from this and I’m already on the floor from overdose. You have to label this much quality kakairu. 
Hakata Kansai and Saitou are my two faves, tbh. I have read a fair bit of Halco and Jerry Angel
