Iruka looked up into the face of his new husband for the first time since their wedding a few hours ago. It caused the stiff cloth of his kimono to stretch. Kakashi didn’t acknowledge him. Instead, he kept looking at Iruka, one eye closed, mask on his face.
Iruka knew the man he’d married, had known him long ago when they’d been young boys playing in the gardens of Sarutobi Manor. But the Kakashi here was nothing like the young Hatake he’d lain next to on the grass as they counted the stars.
He wondered who he had really married.
